Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) are a group of premier institutions established by the Government of India to promote high-quality education and research in basic sciences. Admissions to undergraduate programs at IISERs are conducted through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), a national-level entrance examination.

IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 Overview

– Exam Date: May 25, 2025

– Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Eligibility Criteria

– Nationality: Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)

– Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class XII or equivalent examination in

2022, 2023, or appearing in 2025 with science stream

– Minimum Marks: 60% for General/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates; 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates

The syllabus for IAT 2025 is based on the NCERT curriculum for Classes XI and XII. Key topics

Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics

– Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Organic

Chemistry, Coordination Compounds, Biomolecules

– Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors,

Matrices and Determinants
